The story
begins with a life-changing experience at the age of 13.
Those
few seconds had carved out a destiny that would take Ken to places he
never dreamed he would go, and, in those places, to meetings people who
helped shape the person he was to become.
His journey takes
him from Australia, to United States, England, New Zealand, India,
Switzerland, and Germany. An extraordinary journey in many ways, he
learns important life lessons from numerous teachers in a variety of
fields, including social work, Transactional Analysis, psychotherapy,
teaching and writing. He also underwent intense training and guidance
from a Siddha Master, Tantric Master, Vedic Master, and a Divine
Mother, and many encounters are described that arose out of these
contacts.
While in United States in the early 1970s, he trained
with Jacqui Schiff, Bob and Mary Goulding and several other leading TA
teachers. His accounts of the processes at Cathexis Institute are
revealing and interesting. He also describes his work as a TA therapist
and trainer back in Australia where he had to deal with great personal
challenges to do the work itself.
Mellor's first-person
narrative reads like an intimate journal, filled with anecdotes that
present the daily wonder of embracing life fully. He
describes
how every event in one's life can clearly show the next step on the
path of spiritual awakening. His encouraging and entertaining
prose is meant to educate readers, subtly and lovingly, towards
expanded understanding and awakening, and to their own unique destiny.
And this works beautifully.
